Dashboard Repair Kit LTR-101D
Consumers can now do professional quality repairs with our heat-cure dashboard repair kit. You can repair holes, rips, tears and burns in minutes. The repair compound colors mix to all popular shades. The colored repair compound is applied into the damaged spot, covered with a grain texture paper, and the paper is heated with the special electric heat tool in your kit. The tool pinpoints the heat and causes an instant cure of the repair compound.
When cool, the grain paper is peeled off, and the repair is finished. Heat causes the repair compound to turn into a leather like material. The grain paper puts the texture in the repair compound. You can repair dashboards, steering wheels, automotive interior trim... anything made from genuine leather, vinyl, naugahyde and plastic.
Note: The repair is made without removing the leather or vinyl ..it is done right in place.

- Q: Do these kits really work?
A: Absolutely! Our repair compound is specially formulated to produce the best possible results for the home user. For best results, we highly recommend you practice doing several repairs using the provided test piece of vinyl before trying the actual repair. Q: Is it hard to match the colors in the kit to my leather or vinyl material? A: As with any DIY project, practice makes perfect. The more you practice before attempting the actual repair, the better your results are likely to be. We've included a comprehensive color matching guide with every kit to help guide you to a near-perfect color match. However, the final match is up to you. Once you think you have your best possible match, we recommend you apply it to a small, inconspicuous area of the material you need to repair. For example, the underside of a leather couch cushion, or the inside leather overlap of a leather jacket. Testing your color match first in this way will help ensure you're satisfied with your color match on the actual repair. Dashboard Repair Kit InstructionsAlways make a practice repair before beginning your job. Use the practice piece of vinyl included in this kit. This vinyl is located in the grain paper packet. Cut a hold in the practice vinyl, put a piece of transparent tape behind it, and practice repairing the hole you created. PREPARE THE DAMAGE Clean the damaged spot with any average cleaner. Trim off any torn edges, frays or threads with a common razor knife. If there is a depression under the damage, fill it in with common cotton wadding or cotton ball material so that the damaged spot is level to the undamaged material. BACKING CLOTH A piece of cloth in the kit is used as a support under the damaged spot. Very minor repairs do not require this backing support. Cut the backing fabric approx. 1/4 inch larger than the damage and insert it into and under the damage. APPLYING THE REPAIR COMPOUND Use the white plastic spatula to apply compound. The 7 colors in the kit are the repair compound colors. If one is a close match to your material, use it directly. If you have to mix your color, follow the color mixing guide on the reverse side of these instructions. Apply the repair compound as evenly as possible into the damaged area, removing the excess, but leaving a very thin film on the undamaged vinyl or leather. Smooth application is very important for a quality repair job. NOTE: The repair compound will produce a flexible repair. For stiffer repairs, or when repairing ridged surfaces, mix in the
